Testimonials

We have rented 30 or 50 holiday lets over the years including a few in Tuscany and this one is the best. View, facilities and comfy bed. Nice to add Il Borghetto to our local list (Great steak ) and nice to see our faves such as Da Remo ( Monzone) and Antic Molino ( Castelnuovo) still great. Will return.

We have enjoyed our fourth visit to La Chicca. As ever a beautiful place to relax. Good local shops and restaurants -try the round salami from the grocer/ vegetable shop). Good to see the railway being modernised; helpful staff in the station cafe for train connections. Welcoming neighbours.

Our second visit to this area and it continues to astound us. We loved La Chicca and the little village, both perfectly situated for getting around. One can be as active or relaxed as one chooses.
We did both Firenze and the Cinque Terre by train ( no trouble with the timetable.) We also loved sitting on the verandah with a glass of wine in hand , admiring the view and watching the world go by. We look forward to our third visit to Lunigiana.

Welcome To Tuscany

Lunigiana is a small area of northern Tuscany; bounded to the north by the Apennine Alps which divide it from Emilia Romagna and Parma; to the west by Liguria, which provides it with its seaside – the Cinque Terre, the Gulf of Poets, Lerici, and Portovenere; to the south and west by the rest of Tuscany, Pisa, Lucca, Florence and Siena.  It is an ancient land which takes its name from the old Roman city of Luni, whose amphitheatre and other ruins are available to visit. Its current charms, apart from its people, are its hills and rivers, ideal for swimming, walking and trekking.
