About Lunigiana

Lunigiana is situated in the northern corner of Tuscany. It is an unspoiled area of breathtaking natural beauty set between the Apennine Mountains, Apuane Alpes and the Mediterranean coastline of Italy.

Our properties are close to the Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena and La Spezia.  Once you have had enough of sightseeing, then there are many other activities in the local area.    Try cycling – there is an excellent cycle shop in Aulla which rents out both road and mountain bikes at reasonable prices.

Walking and trekking in this spectacular area suits all standards. Keep to the valleys which are flat, or be more adventurous and go into the Apuane Alps where you can climb as high as you like. You can also try fishing, or go swimming at the many outdoor pools and river rock pools. Then there is horseriding, tennis, golf and even skiing at the excellent local resorts in Winter. Or, you could just enjoy the views over a glass of wine!

If you are not tied to the hot months of July and August, why not visit in April, May and June which is a wonderful time of year with all the spring flowers in abundance, and is very often, beautifully warm. Or maybe even September, October and November which is again relatively warm and when the colours change it’s magical! This sunlit land of chestnut covered hills crowned by medieval villages is easily accessed by road and air. Here you will enjoy the very best of Italy - wonderful landscapes, good food and a warm Italian welcome.
